Northville Website Design and Development

An unusual number of Tier 1 suppliers for a community this size.

Northville carries a concentration of automotive supplier operations that would look out of place anywhere except south-east Michigan. ZF, Tenneco, Cooper-Standard, Hella and Aisin all have a presence here, and the township shares the Five Mile redevelopment corridor with Plymouth. That is a very specific audience, and it is one we have spent fifteen years building for.

Start a project What is here

What is actually here.

Verified before publishing, with sources named. The brief we were working from attributed several of these companies to a neighbouring township; the listings say otherwise, so they are recorded here instead. That is the whole method on these pages — check it, cite it, or leave it out. A location page that quietly recycles somebody else's economic-development copy is worse than no page at all, because the people most likely to spot the error are the local buyers it was written for.

01

A genuine Tier 1 cluster

ZF North America, Tenneco, Cooper-Standard, Hella Corporate Center USA and Aisin Technical Center of America all have operations in the Northville area. For a community of this size that is a remarkable concentration of supplier engineering and administration in a very small radius.

02

Technical centres, not assembly plants

The distinction matters. These are engineering, administrative and technical operations, which means the people in them are specifying, sourcing and qualifying rather than producing. They are the exact audience a Tier 2 supplier is trying to reach, and they are reachable in ten minutes.

03

Half of the Five Mile corridor

The Michigan International Technology Center spans Plymouth and Northville Townships, running along Five Mile between Beck and Napier across fifteen parcels of former farmland and a former prison site. Northville Township is one of the named partners alongside Plymouth Township, Wayne County, the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan.

src: mitc-usa.org. The site publishes no total acreage and names no occupier companies, so none are claimed here.

04

A city and a township, again

Like Plymouth, Northville is two entities: the City of Northville and Northville Township. The industrial and corporate operations are largely in the Township; the historic downtown is the City. Getting this wrong in your business listings is a quiet but persistent drag on local ranking.

05

A downtown that trades on being a downtown

Northville's historic centre supports independent practices, firms and retailers who compete on character and locality rather than price. They need a site that looks as considered as the street does.

06

Straddling two counties

Northville sits across the Wayne and Oakland county line, which occasionally matters for permitting, for service-area definitions and for how your business appears in directory data. It is worth being deliberate rather than accidental about which side you present.

07

Sharing a school district and a corridor with Plymouth

Northville and Plymouth Townships share the Five Mile redevelopment corridor and sit directly adjacent, which means the supplier population, the labour pool and the commute patterns overlap heavily. Businesses here routinely serve both, and the site should reflect the real catchment rather than a municipal boundary.

08

A small community with a corporate address book

The unusual thing about Northville is the ratio — a community of modest size carrying named operations from several global suppliers. It means your neighbours may well be your customers, and it means a site that reads as generic is competing against the expectations set by companies with in-house brand teams.

Who we build for in Northville.

Supplier engineering at one end, an independent historic downtown at the other.

Automotive and mobility suppliers

Businesses selling into the technical centres here, where scope, certification and program history are checked before a conversation starts.

Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers

Process houses and specialist shops that a Tier 1 sourcing team needs to be able to find, evaluate and qualify quickly.

Manufacturers and industrial distributors

Found by material, tolerance and capability rather than by company name.

Professional and B2B services

Firms serving the corporate population here, where the buyer is doing due diligence rather than shopping.

Independent downtown businesses

Practices, firms and retailers competing on locality, where the site has to match the quality of the street.

Contractors and specialty trades

Serving both the residential base and the commercial corridor, and won largely in local search.

What being next door changes.

Northville Township and Plymouth Township share a border and a redevelopment corridor. We are a few minutes from both.

01

We can walk the floor

For anything involving a product range, a process or a facility, seeing it beats being told about it. That is most of our manufacturing work.

02

We can sit with your sales team

What your salespeople get asked every week is what the site should answer first. Questionnaires do not surface it.

03

Launch day has someone reachable

Same county, same time zone, and a phone that gets answered while DNS propagates.

04

You can come and look

Our office is at 595 Forest Ave in Plymouth. Fifteen minutes, and worth it before signing anything with anyone.

What we do for businesses here.

Strategy, design, engineering and growth from one senior team — including the supplier-specific plumbing most agencies hand off.

Start a project
01
Capability and certification presentation

Scope, certifying body and expiry as readable text rather than a scanned JPEG. The cheapest credibility available to a supplier.

02
RFQ paths that take a drawing

Large-file upload, a stated confidentiality position, and routing to whoever actually quotes that process.

03
Spec-driven product structure

Filtering by the attributes engineers genuinely search on, rather than a services page that lists everything.

04
ERP and CRM integration

One source of truth for price, stock and lead time, synced and alarmed before a customer notices.

05
Local and technical search together

The map pack for the local work, and process-specific pages for the buyers searching by capability and region.

06
Hosting, care plans and support

Updates applied and verified, nightly off-server backups, monitoring, and a senior first reply within four business hours.

Questions from Northville businesses.

Do you work with Tier 1 suppliers?

Yes, and with the Tier 2 and Tier 3 businesses that sell into them, which is often where a website does more work. There are dedicated pages for both — the Tier 1 argument is different from the Tier 2 one, and conflating them is how supplier sites end up saying nothing.

Our customers will not let us name them. Can we still show program history?

Yes, and it is routine. The shape of the work carries without the name: the component type, the process, the annual volume band, the launch role, the years in production. Written that way it is publishable and still persuasive.

Should our listing say Northville or Northville Township?

Whichever your address actually sits in, and then everything else has to agree — site, citations, directories, invoices. Northville and Plymouth both being split into a city and a township makes this a more common problem here than in most places.

We are in the historic downtown, not the corridor. Is this still for us?

Yes, and it is a different build. A practice or retailer on Main Street is competing locally and on character; a supplier on Five Mile is competing on capability and certification. We would rather build the right one than the same one twice.

How do we handle drawings and controlled data?

To the position your quality and legal teams already hold rather than one we invent — from a plain confidentiality statement at the point of upload, through a click-through mutual NDA, to keeping controlled work off the public site entirely. If ITAR or EAR applies, that conversation happens before design.

How long does a project take?

A focused marketing site is eight to twelve weeks. Catalog, quoting and integration work runs longer and is phased so something useful goes live first. Content and feedback turnaround on your side moves the date more than our capacity does.

What does it cost?

Scoped in phases with a budget against each, approved one at a time. We are not the cheapest and do not compete on being so.

Do you do the photography?

We arrange it, and for industrial clients we generally should — consistent product imagery on a consistent background is worth more on a technical site than any amount of design flourish. A catalog where half the ranges have studio shots and half have phone pictures reads as a company not in control of its information.

Can you integrate with our ERP?

Usually. Epicor, Plex, NetSuite, Dynamics, Global Shop, IQMS or a system with one person left who understands it — if it has a database, an API or a reliable export we can work with it. Where it genuinely cannot be reached, we will say so.

How quickly do you respond?

Four business hours for a first reply, from somebody senior enough to assess it rather than log it.

We are small and our neighbours are global suppliers. How do we not look amateur?

By being specific rather than polished. A Tier 1 buyer is not comparing your design to a global brand's — they are checking whether you can do the work, at what capacity, with what certification. Specificity reads as competence; vagueness reads as a company hoping not to be asked.

Do you build supplier portals and document libraries?

Yes. Spec sheets, drawings, certificates, installation guides and warranty documents — findable, current, versioned and indexable. It is frequently the highest-value part of a supplier build and almost always left out of the original scope.

Can you work inside a parent company's brand system?

Routinely. A corporate brand guideline, an asset library, an approvals process, a security review or a specific hosting posture are all normal on supplier projects here, and we would rather plan around them from the start than discover them at design review. It is usually the approvals timeline, not the guidelines, that moves the date.

Our site is fine. We just cannot update it. Is that a rebuild?

Not necessarily, and that is worth establishing before anyone quotes a rebuild. Sometimes the honest answer is that the structure is sound and the editing experience is bad, which is a smaller and cheaper problem. We would rather fix that and keep the relationship than sell you a project you did not need.

Do you build in multiple languages?

When it genuinely earns its place — you sell into those markets and can support enquiries in that language. Worth skipping when it is aspirational, because a half-maintained translation reads worse to a buyer than one confident language. For suppliers this comes up more than people expect, and the answer is more often no than yes.

What happens after launch?

Most clients move onto a care plan, which is where the relationship actually lives. Updates applied and verified, edits when you need them, monitoring and backups, and a scheduled conversation about what the site should do next rather than letting it freeze at its launch-day assumptions.

What if we need something you do not do?

We will tell you, and where we can we will point you at someone who does. There is a long list of things we deliberately do not offer — broadcast, print buying, PR, trade show stands — and pretending otherwise would cost you more than the referral costs us.
